Educators from Sweden’s Östra Upper Secondary School visit Erbil

The Fakhir Mergasori International School welcomed a group of educators from Sweden on October 29th, 2008. The group from Östra Upper Secondary School included staff such as, Mr. Göran Svenberg, Head of the School and Mrs. Shapol Mergasuri, a Kurdish Teacher and daughter of the martyr Fakhir Mergasori.

The main purpose of their visit to Kurdistan was to focus on teaching methodologies in Kurdistan and how the Kurdish language is being taught. Their visit to Erbil included a tour and meeting with the Administration from Fakhir Mergasori International School, which is the first Public-Private Partnership project in coordination with the Kurdish Regional Government and SABIS® Educational Services.

The Swedish group was very impressed with the PPP project at Fakhir Mergasori International. They were impressed with the SABIS® teaching methodologies and the teacher’s in-class management of the kids. Their tour consisted of an overview of the SABIS® PPP system, and was later invited to classrooms to witness the implementation of the system. Just as their school in Sweden, creating a bright future for the students is the main priority and focus at the Fakhir Mergasori International School.
