Overview

Fakhir Mergasori International School (FMIS) is a highly academic, non-selective, co-educational, English-medium, independent day school for students from the ages of 4 to 15 years. It provides top-quality education to children of different races, nationalities, and backgrounds. We believe we can add more value to students to enable them to perform to the best of their ability, gain entry to the most competitive universities and achieve success in their chosen career paths. The school allows students to acquire academic competence and interpersonal skills instilling in them high ethical, moral, and civic values.

FMIS opened its doors on September 1, 2008, to more than 300 children in Kindergarten through Grade 3, becoming the first SABIS® PPP school to open in Kurdistan. The school, which is named after the Kurdish martyr Fakhir Mergasori, solely serves the children of martyrs. Currently, over 1,000 students attend the school in Kindergarten through Grade 9.
