FMIS STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN IYLEP WORKSHOP
On October 10, 2018, students in grades 11-12 at Fakhir Mergasori International School (FMIS), a SABIS® PPP school in Kurdistan, attended a workshop by the SLO® Outreach Department in order to familiarize themselves with the Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program (IYELP).
The IYLEP program allows SABIS® students to travel to a foreign country for summer exchanges to explore themes of leadership development, civic rights and responsibilities, respect for diversity, and community engagement. IYELP encourages students to organize and execute projects in their communities. In addition to participating in several kinds of activities, students at FMIS that participate in IYELP will get the chance to exchange cultures with others and experience living with a family in a new country.
The purpose of the workshop was to familiarize students with the IYELP program and everything it has to offer. Students benefited from the workshop and it encouraged them to explore the program and what it has to offer. Visit the gallery of the event, please click here.
