FMIS Students Raise Necessities for Families in Need

On December 8, 2016, students in KG 1 to Grade 10 at Fakhir Mergasori International School (FMIS), a SABIS® PPP school in Kurdistan, donated goods to a drive organized by the SLO® Social Responsibility Department in coordination with the Seed Foundation to help those in need.

Everyone at FMIS worked together to collect items of necessity for families who were trying to rebuild their lives after escaping ISIS occupation in the region. The Social Responsibility Department helped put all the goods in boxes and decorated them for the families. Everyone felt a sense of pride knowing they had a hand in making a difference.

The drive was organized to help those in need and teach students the importance of giving. The students showed a great sense of responsibility by participating in this event. “I am very overwhelmed by the feeling that I can help these refugees and feel for them,” said a student.
