FMIS STUDENTS SIT FOR CAMBRIDGE MATH CHECKPOINT

On (16 Oct 2018), Grade 6 students at Fakhir Mergasori International School (FMIS), a SABIS® PPP school in Kurdistan sat for a Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint test in math.

The students at FMIS worked hard throughout the academic year in preparation for the exam. The checkpoint exam gives valuable feedback on learners’ strengths and weaknesses, are marked in Cambridge, and provide schools with an external international benchmark for student performance. Once completed, each student receives a certificate of achievement and a diagnostic feedback report.

Attending such exams also gave students the opportunity to experience what it would be like to sit for the official, international, external exams in high school. “After my daughter took the exam, and received the certificate, she was overwhelmed with happiness. Before she took the exam, I would often see her study passionately for it. I am really glad that it went well for her,” said a parent.
