FMIS STUDENTS SIT FOR CAMBRIDGE MATH CHECKPOINT

On October 30, 2019, Grade 7 students at Fakhir Mergasori International School (FMIS), a SABIS® PPP school in Kurdistan sat for a Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint test in math.

The students at FMIS worked hard throughout the academic year in preparation for the exam. The checkpoint exam gives valuable feedback on learners’ strengths and weaknesses, are marked in Cambridge, and provide schools with an external international benchmark for student performance. Once completed, each student receives a certificate of achievement and a diagnostic feedback report.

Attending such exams also gave students the opportunity to experience what it would be like to sit for the official, international, external exams in high school. “I was really excited to take the exam. I studied hard, and when I took the exam and received the certificate, I was overjoyed knowing that my hard work was paid off,” said a parent.
