Fun day festivities for KG students and parents

On Saturday April 3rd KG1 had its annual KG Fun day, while KG2 students enjoyed their Fun day the following Saturday, on April 11th. Over 80 KG1 students and 70 KG2 students attended with their parents and family.  All students looked wonderful with their faces painted with flowers and butterflies- some were even made to look like their favorite superheroes.

Both days began on 9:15 in the morning with the Kurdish national anthem and a warm welcome from the school director, Ms Jwan Husny.  As the games progressed, students were joined by Winnie the Pooh and a Silly Monkey and also attracted crew from Nawroz television station.  For over 2 hours, children participated in activities such as tug of war, musical freeze, 3-legged race, potato sack race, a limbo contest as well as some fun with water balloons.  All the children had a great time playing and laughing as their parents and teachers cheered them on. Both days were concluded with Ms. Husny thanking students, parents and all involved with making the days a success.  Students were later called up individually and awarded fun prizes.

Both Saturdays were a definite hit where students enjoyed playing games and experienced a different aspect of school.  Parents also seemed to have a good time as they had a chance to meet teachers and other parents while watching their child play and laugh with their classmates.
